Cholera Natural Remedies

Cholera is a bacterial disease of the intestinal tract. It’s rare in the United States but can be difficult in third world foreign countries. It comes from poor hygiene and sanitation. Cholera is pread by eating or drinking food that has been contaminated by fecal waste of an infected person.

The symptoms are mild to severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. Usually no fever is present. The symptoms can start from a few hours to up to 5 days after exposure and last 2 to 3 days. If dehydrated, cholera can kill children and even adults.

Medical perspective is antibiotics which shorten the time of diarrhea and can be life saving but is not always available in third-world countries.

Natural treatments for cholera have been used successful for centuries. In many countries the important thing is sanitation and hygiene. Prevention of cholera is most important. Treatment can be effective using homeopathic remedies as well as herbs.

No solid foods should be taken whenever there is diarrhea because it only makes the diarrhea worse (the cholera bacteria feeds on it).

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH CHILDREN—MAKE SURE THEY DON’T GET DEHYDRATED OR DEATH MAY BE EMINENT.

Herbs for Cholera

Herbs are plants valued for their specific strengthening/ tonifying properties.

For the last several years cholera has been treated successfully with clay. Most used clay is green, bentonite, montmorilanite,. Historically the dose has been 2 tablespoons in a glass of water taken three times a day to adsorb (bacteria clings to it and is forced out of the body). Historical records suggest that mortality rates went from 60% without it to 3% using clay.

Another possible avenue that seems to be effective is activated charcoal which, when in a pinch can be made in a toaster or over a fire by burning the bread and scraping off the black stuff. Use 2 tablespoons in water 3 times a day, much like clay. Use what you have, it may be life saving.

Other herbs useful for this are:

Strong tea of 1 tablespoon herbs to 8 ounces water may be taken 3 times a day. Use your choice or combo of Red raspberry leaf, White oak bark, and Sage leaf.

To settle the stomach, use astringent herbs which stop diarrhea and strengthen digestion (Chamomile and Sage).

Cell Salts to Help with Cholera
