Tinnitus Natural Remedies

Tinnitus Natural Remedies

Tinnitus is when you hear noises that sound from within the head and not from external sources. These noises can be anything from ringing or hissing to buzzing and almost anything else. There are a variety of causes. Loud or persistent job or entertainment noises can cause serious hard to treat tinnitus. It can be caused by ear canal blockage from ear wax. It can be allergies and mucus conditions.

A hidden cause of tinnitus might be a fluid imbalance in the body (potassium and sodium imbalance caused by kidney problems). Causes of tinnitus include organic disturbances of the middle ear from too much noise damage over a prolonged period; this one is hard to treat from a medical perspective. Many times tinnitus can be a medication, the most common of which is aspirin-type medications. Other medication such as antibiotics or sedatives can cause tinnitus. An even more common cause of tinnitus is mineral deficiencies such as zinc and magnesium; deficiencies may come from stress or nutritional deficiencies from eating fast foods. Manganese may also be an issue. Congestion from allergic responses may also be an issue.

The medical perspective uses diagnosis to determine the cause (a wise course of action) but offers few solutions. Treatments are usually ineffective unless it is a tumor and surgery may help. Anti-depressants have been found to be helpful for some although little research exists. Remember, other drugs may be causing tinnitus as a side effect – check your medications.

Tinnitus Natural Help
From the natural perspective we look to the causes. If a mineral deficiency, use Zinc at 50 mg, Manganese at 5 mg and Magnesium (enough to loosen the stool, but not to diarrhea).

High pitched noises need to be dealt with kidney remedies. Low-pitched sounds are best treated with liver remedies. Other possibilities include nerve damage from a high-noise environment. It can be effectively treated with whatever you decide, using a combination of supplements for at least 2 months at a time.

Diet may play a big factor especially when a person’s diet consists of nutrient deficient foods such as fast food. Remove foods that obstruct circulation such as alcohol, tobacco, caffeinated soda pop, and coffee; and also these things may cause nutritional deficiencies.

Foods that contain aspirin-like compounds such as grapes, almonds, cherries, apricots, and wine should be avoided. Caffeine is implicated in a significant portion of people with tinnitus. Caffeinated foods include foods such as sodas, green and black teas, as well as chocolate.

If mucus congestion of the ears is a problem then you can reduce problems by eliminating dairy products or other foods that increase mucus.

Regular exercise will help to promote better circulation. Hot foot baths and cold calf packs will help stimulate circulation and reduce ear noises.

To help nerve health, take a good B-Complex over several months.

Zinc supplementation (50mg per day) is often helpful.

Manganese is helpful as a trace mineral.

Many practitioners feel that magnesium deficiency is the main cause for tinnitus. Start off with one capsule and increase daily until the bowel loosens up. Stop just before having diarrhea.

NAC (n-acetyl-cysteine) is useful for liver health and dries up mucus congestion.

Be patient as natural remedies may take weeks to months to work, but the results can be satisfying.
