Ulcerative Colitis Natural Remedies

Ulcerative colitis is an inflammation and ulceration of the rectum which can ascend up through the whole large intestine. The symptoms of ulcerative colitis are mostly chronic diarrhea with blood in the stool. Frequently there is weakness, lack of appetite, pain of the left abdomen, rectal pain and even cramping. We often see mucus in the stool. Ulcerative colitis can be associated with canker sores of the mouth, rashes, and joint problems. Symptoms may come and go, but often will become more severe. Those most affected ulcerative colitis are 15 to 30 years of age with auto-immune problems.

Causes of ulcerative colitis may be lifestyle (stress), poor diet (refined and processed foods.) and likely from smoking. NSAIDS (non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) may also be a cause or aggravate the problem.

Modern medicine uses various methods of diagnosis, sometimes linking ulcerative colitis with Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel, colitis, tumors or even diverticulitis. The treatments for ulcerative colitis may be steroids or other immunosuppressive drugs. If symptoms are not being suppressed by medications and their side effects or toxicity, then surgery may be suggested and can create a non reversible problem. All of which have a low success rate.

Natural perspectives believe that the body has the ability to repair itself given the right tools and diet. First correct the diet and use nutritional, herbal, homeopathic and cell salt support. Diet is important. Reduce junk foods, smoking, alcohol, coffee, etc. Eat foods that are fresh and those which agree with your gastro-intestinal system.

Helpful supplements include NAC (n-acetyl-cysteine), 2 caps 3 times a day to support the liver and reduce mucus production. Grape seed extract supports connective tissue integrity.

Natural Stomach Ulcer Remedies

Our stomach and digestive system is lined with brain-type cells. People that get stomach ulcers are often stressed and hold their anger, stress, and frustration in their gut, suggesting that ulcers are affected by our thoughts. Stomach ulcers frequently cause pain shortly (15-60 minutes) after eating. The pain is generally in the liver-gallbladder region (lower right abdomen). Ulcers are noticed mostly in the fall and springtime.

Ulcer symptoms start with bouts of indigestion. It may begin with discomfort in the upper right side of the abdomen and may radiate through a spot in the back. Pains can also be felt in the fingertips. Be aware of low stomach acid conditions which are seen as discomfort right after meals. It is a precursor for stomach ulcers.

Excess acid conditions are when there is digestive discomfort 2-3 hours after meals. This sets up the conditions for duodenal ulcers. Duodenal ulcers (below the stomach) often have pain that radiates to the tip of the lower right shoulder blade, which is also a sign of gall bladder problems. These pains are experienced morning and night, subside with eating, and resume 2-3 hours after meals.

The medical field uses acid reducers for ulcers. While reducing symptoms, these medications hamper the immune system, contribute to osteoporosis, anemia and poor protein assimilation, and create other side effects.

It has been observed that female hormones protect against ulcers. They are rarely seen in women 20 to 45 years old. Another cause is tobacco, which is the number one cause of stomach cancer.

Natural solutions include reducing stress. Some people need counseling or a change in job or a relationship. Using nutritional supplements such as Aloe Vera Juice soothes mucus membranes of the entire digestive tract. Olive oil a few drops ingested at a time may soothe stomach pain. Scrape ashes from one burned toast into a glass of water, several times a day, or use charcoal powder in caps.

Tremors Natural Remedies

Rhythmical muscle spasms with an alternation of opposing muscle groups are tremors. It is most commonly recognized in the hands, but may be seen in the neck and other parts.
The key is that tremors have a regular rhythm. Other symptoms of tics or jerks belong to a different discussion with athetosis, chorea, dystonia, ballism, or Parkinson’s disease, although treatments may be similar.

Causes to be ruled out: brain disease, hyper thyroidism, drug toxicity from prescription or over-the-counter meds. Most conditions can be treated naturally but its best to get a diagnosis and rule out other diseases.

According to modern medicine, again the cause must be known, tremors are treated with drugs (they all have side effects and may have to be used for a very long time). If stress or anxiety has induced the tremors the use of anti-depressant or other psychotic drugs may be prescribed. Counseling may be a good option for anxiety and stress.

Natural Perspective
Ayurvedic tradition says that tremors are a Vata disturbance of the muscles. It is the nerves of the muscle that need help. Chinese medicine says the liver controls the sinews and muscles and most tremors are caused by liver problems. This includes toxicity from medicines or alcohol which affect the liver. Another cause is often nerve or stress conditions to which natural therapies for tremors are particularly helpful.

Nutrition for tremors includes:

Magnesium citrate to relax the muscles.

Alpha lipoic acid to increase anti-oxidant power

Vitamin B-complex to reduce the consequences of stress.

Lifestyle
Slow down if anxious our stressed. What’s the hurry? Smell the roses. If a relationship is making things worse seek counseling. If work is stressing you, re-examine your priorities. Change your lifestyle before the universe (circumstances) changes it for you.

Natural Snoring Remedies

Snoring is an unacceptable noise when a person is lying down sleeping and occurs most frequently when lying on the back. When the soft palate in the throat closes down, it causes a vibration and the snoring noise. The tissue is too soft; this is one of many theories. Modern medicine tries to stop snoring with surgery, but is not always successful.

From the natural perspective, snoring is caused by weak connective tissue that can be helped by natural therapies. Snoring may come from excess mucus, allergies and other factors such as weight problems. Poor digestion may also contribute to snoring. Thus, eliminate tobacco, alcohol, coffee, black tea, soda and dairy products.
