Bleeding Gums Natural Remedies

Gums which swell, are irritated or bleed; common causes are diet, hygiene, lack of circulation with veins that are poor, infections, injuries. Generally, modern medicine treats it with antibiotics which don’t address the cause, and may have unwanted side effects.

Natural solutions treat the causes by improving circulation, diet, and hygiene. Circulation needs improvement along with the immune system. Gently massage gums with fingers twice a day. Make sure you are brushing your teeth gently at least twice a day.

 

Herbs for Bleeding Gums

Herbs are plants valued for their specific strengthening/ tonifying properties.

Herb combination:

Dave’s Heart Formula – combination of hawthorn, mistletoe, horsetail, lemon balm and anise helps with circulation, in general.

Herb singles:

Calendula tincture – for healing tissue, use same as other tinctures.

Goldenseal tincture – immune stimulant, antibacterial. Gargle 30 drops in 8 ounces of water, also for infections.

Myrrh tincture – antiseptic, commonly used for problems in the mouth. May be combined with Goldenseal.


Cell Salts to Help with Bleeding Gums

To make a cell salt solution, put up to 10 tablets of each cell salt in a 16- to 24-ounce bottle; fill with water and swirl to dissolve tablets. Sip throughout the day.

Bleeding Gum Homeopathic Remedies

Homeopathic remedies are non-toxic natural medicines safe for everyone including infants and pregnant or nursing women. You may use 6X, 30X, 6C or 30C potencies.

Aesculus hipp – Reduced permeability of the gums. Purple gums from poor blood flow. Can also have lower molar toothaches, worse from warm drinks. Excess saliva. Taste bitter, sweet, metallic. Teeth feel covered by oil. Tendency to varicose veins or hemorrhoids.

Crotalus horr – Bleeding slow, oozing thin blood. Excess saliva, loss of taste, bad breath. Tendency to infections and pus.

Hamamelis – With blisters on side of the tongue, cankers, spots near the tip. Bloody metallic taste. Passive hemorrhage from gums after tooth extraction with soreness. Thick venous bleeding with pain.

Lachesis – Tendency to hemorrhages. Bluish mucus membranes. Thick pasty saliva. Bad breath. Burning with swelling of lips and gums. Gums are bluish, swollen, spongy, bleeds easily. Raw burning with cankers.

Millefolium – Gum boils, rheumatic pains and diseased gums. Toothaches from eating. Use before tooth extraction. Blood is bright red but is venous.

Phosphorus – Salty or sweet saliva or bitter taste in mouth. Gums bleed easily especially sore behind central incisors. Bleeds profusely after tooth extraction. Think about liver problems. Bleeding of bright red blood.

Thlapsi bursa pastoris – Bleeding and hemorrhages. This is used for general bleeding of gums without symptoms. Bitter, dry, or slimy mouth. Gums sore, nerve pains in the teeth.
